When are examination results released to students?

2024 summer exam results days are:

GCSE and IGCSE EXAM RESULTS DAY: Thursday August 22nd

A LEVEL EXAM RESULTS DAY : Thursday August 15th

You will get your results from your examination centre.  If you are an NEA student then we are your examination centre and we will send out email results on the day to the address we have for the student concerned (not parents or guardians).

Results slips or “Provisional Statements of Results” as they are correctly named will have your UCI number printed on them.  Please retain this as you will need it when making any subsequent exam entries.

PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT WE HAVE YOUR CORRECT AND CURRENT EMAIL ADDRESS ON OUR SYSTEM. If you don’t tell us it has changed we have no way of knowing!

Be aware, we are not allowed to disclose results over the phone.

What if I am not happy with my grades?

All exam boards have a post results service page on their websites which explains exactly what is available to you, how to access it and the cost. Most of the actions are for A level students and GCSE or IGCSE grades are not generally queried to the same extent.

It is very important to be aware that if a student does request a review of marking, there is no grade protection, so marks can and often do go down as well as up. This is where grade boundaries have to be considered. If your mark is very close to the bottom of a grade it is unwise to question it as there is a very strong possibility that you could lose a couple of marks and go down a grade. Also even if you gain some extra marks, you are not likely to be given enough to go up to the next grade. Conversely, if you are within a few marks of the next grade band up then you could gain enough to go up a grade and you are unlikely to lose enough to go down.

Private Candidates should direct all requests to the exam officer at their entering centre but, failing that they can go straight to the exam boards using the information on the appropriate exam board website.

Students with an NEA subject should have been entered by Oxford Open Learning and therefore please speak to us. We will be available to give advice and help on results days and the following days.

Students with a university place pending should request the priority services.

There are a lot of deadlines for the various services, but please don’t panic you will have time to consider your position, look at your marked script, take advice and if necessary, query your grade.
